« Dr. Julianne Byrne, C.E.O.

A Drogheda native, Dr. Julianne Byrne attended Drogheda and Wicklow secondary schools, obtained her primary degree (B.Sc, Hons in Zoology and Biochemistry) from University College Dublin, her master's degree in Zoology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, and her PhD in Epidemiology from Columbia University in New York. She has worked in hospitals and research institutes as well as for the US National Cancer Institute and for private industry. Dr. Byrne has taught epidemiology at graduate level at Columbia University and at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services in Washington, DC. She has served as Research Professor of Pediatrics and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the George Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Byrne is founder and CEO of the Boyne Research Institute since 1992. She is also a founder member of the PanCare Network and served on the founding board as founding Treasurer. She, and the Boyne Research Institute, are partners in the two EU-funded consortia -- PanCareSurFup (www.pancaresurfup.eu) and PanCareLIFE (www.pancarelife.eu).
« Helen Campbell, Research Assistant
Helen Campbell has an MSc in protein chemistry from University College Cork and a BSc in Biotechnology from Dublin City University. Ms Campbell’s background includes experience in the pharmaceutical sector manufacturing, research and development in the UK and Ireland. She will provide support and management expertise to the PanCareLIFE project. She lives in Bettystown with her husband Michael and their three children, Orla, Rory and Eoin.
« Rebecca Lawler, Administrator/Researcher
Rebecca Lawler has a degree in marketing from the University Of Lincolnshire and Humberside and lives in Bettystown with her husband, Mark, and their two children, Eve and John. Mrs Lawler joined the Boyne Research Institute in November 2006 and has been involved in many projects and events.
